Cut these out while watching TV and they applied cleanly to my shield model without any peeling. The white primer tip in the description really does make a difference for the gold to pop.

The adhesive is strong enough that I got a clean stick on the first try after priming the shield white, and the tiny details in the fleur de lis cut cleanly. A bit fiddly to separate from the backing, but worth it for the medieval look.
