The transfers sit perfectly on the Gripping Beast oval shields, and I was relieved the shield boss decals actually line up with the center. The vexilium design adds a nice focal point for the unit.

I’d been hunting for accurate Late Roman shield patterns for ages—these transfers lay down flat without silvering, even on the tricky curve of an oval shield. The set includes everything for the standard bearer’s round shield and a vexillum, so my unit looks cohesive on the table.
